Nobody has all the answers. This initiative can only achieve its aims through the involvement of a wide range of participants including as many healthcare disciplines and geographical locations as possible. The plan is flexible and will be shaped by the breadth and depth of interest received. It will draw on the wide range of influential work carried out by charities, non-governmental organisations and academic institutions over several decades. Some actions will be simpler to undertake (the low-hanging fruit) and these will be prioritised. This will inform a working framework that will play out over longer periods. Appropriate resources and funding will be sought. Instead of becoming daunted by the magnitude of the task, I am excited about the legacy it has the potential to create.
